In yet another move by the Penguins they have re-signed defenseman Matt Niskanen to a two year contract worth around $2.3 million a year. This is a solid move to keep around a defenseman who is only just getting adjusted in Pittsburgh. Last season was his first full season as a Penguin and he played solid all season, topping it off with three points in four playoff games.
The Free Agent market opens up in just under 24 hours, lets see what else General Manager Ray Shero comes up with over the next few days. Possibly a veteran defenseman to solidify that unit, or a good friend of Sidney Crosby to add more spark to an already potent offensive attack. We will know soon enough, Lets Go Pens!
